Ralph, with his co-writer G. Riley Mills, has written two dramatic plays, Sawdust And Spangles and Streeterville. The pair also wrote The Flower Thieves, a circus musical for The Midnight Circus, and three successful children's musicals, A Nutty Nutcracker Christmas, Hansel And Gretel, and The Hundred Dresses. 

Their plays have been produced in Chicago, Orlando, Las Vegas, and off-Broadway in New York City.

Both Sawdust And Spangles and Streeterville won the Joseph Jefferson Citation (Jeff Award) for Best New Work, in 1998 and 2001, respectively.
Both Sawdust And Spangles and A Nutty Nutcracker Christmas were subsequently published as hard cover, illustrated picture books, and both A Nutty Nutcracker Christmas and The Hundred Dresses have been published as dramatic scripts.
